Muscle requires more caloric energy than fat.

Strength training workouts increase your metabolism naturally because muscle requires more energy, even at rest.

Muscle is made up of:

70% Water

7% Lipid

22% Protein

After age 20 we loose 1/2 lb of muscle mass per year & .5% a year decrease in metabolic rate.

If you don't use it, you loose it!
